Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium Green Apple e.g., Granny Smith, cored and roughly chopped (peeled if desired, but skin adds fiber)
  • ½ - ¾ cup Liquid e.g., water, coconut water, or unsweetened almond milk; start with ½ cup
  • ½ Ripe Banana preferably frozen, for sweetness and creaminess – adjust to taste

Alternatively for sweetness:

  • 1-2 pitted Medjool dates or 1-2 tsp maple syrup/honey
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon or Lime Juice freshly squeezed, helps with flavor and prevents browning

Optional Add-ins :

  • 1 handful Fresh Spinach
  • ½ inch knob Fresh Ginger peeled
  • 4-6 Ice Cubes especially if not using frozen banana

Instructions
 

  • Combine Liquids & Softer Ingredients: Pour your chosen liquid into the blender. Add the lemon/lime juice. If using spinach or a non-frozen banana, add it now.
  • Add Apple & Harder Ingredients: Add the chopped green apple and any frozen banana or fresh ginger. If using ice, add it last.
  • Blend Until Smooth: Secure the blender lid. Start blending on a low speed to break down the apple, then increase to high speed. Blend for 60-90 seconds, or until the smoothie is completely smooth and no apple chunks remain. Scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed.
  • Check Consistency & Taste: Pour a little to check the thickness. If too thick, add a tablespoon or two more of your liquid base and blend briefly. Taste; if it's too tart for your liking, add a bit more banana or your chosen sweetener and blend again.
  • Serve Immediately: Pour into a chilled glass and enjoy the crisp, refreshing taste right away! Garnish with an apple slice if desired.
