Equipment

  • Blender (a reasonably strong one is recommended)
  • Measuring cups
  • spoons

Ingredients

  • ½ to ¾ cup Cottage Cheese full-fat or low-fat, your preference
  • 1 cup Frozen Fruit e.g., mixed berries, mango chunks, peach slices
  • ½ Banana fresh or frozen, adds extra creaminess & sweetness
  • ½ to ¾ cup Liquid e.g., milk, almond milk, oat milk, water; start with ½ cup

Optional Sweetener:

  • 1-2 tsp Honey Maple Syrup, or 1-2 pitted dates (if fruit isn't very sweet)

Optional Boosters:

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds 1 tbsp nut butter, 1 scoop protein powder, handful of spinach

Instructions

  • Combine Liquids & Cottage Cheese: Pour your chosen liquid into the blender. Add the cottage cheese. If using spinach or powders (like protein powder), add them now.
  • Add Fruits & Other Solids: Add the frozen fruit, banana, and any other solid ingredients like nut butter or dates.
  • Blend Until Smooth: Secure the blender lid. Start blending on a low speed, then quickly increase to high. Blend for 45-90 seconds, or until the smoothie is completely smooth, creamy, and no lumps of cottage cheese or fruit remain. Use a tamper if your blender has one, or stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
  • Check Consistency & Taste: Pour a little into a glass to check the thickness. If too thick, add a tablespoon or two more liquid and blend briefly. If too thin, add a few more pieces of frozen fruit or a little more cottage cheese and blend. Taste and add optional sweetener if desired.
  • Serve Immediately: Pour into a glass and enjoy your creamy, protein-packed smoothie right away!

Notes

Quick Tips for Success
  • Frozen Fruit is Key: For the thickest, creamiest smoothie, always use at least some frozen fruit.
  • Blend Thoroughly: Ensure the cottage cheese is completely broken down for the smoothest texture. If unsure, blend the cottage cheese and liquid together first before adding other ingredients.
  • Adjust Liquid: The amount of liquid needed will vary based on your cottage cheese, the type of fruit, and your desired thickness. Start with less and add more as needed.
  • Sweeten to Taste: The natural sweetness of your fruit will vary. Taste and add a natural sweetener only if necessary.
