Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups
  • spoons
  • Ice cream scoop

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Strong Brewed Coffee chilled thoroughly, or Cold Brew Concentrate
  • 1-2 tsp Alternatively: Instant Espresso Powder dissolved in 2 tbsp hot water then chilled
  • 3 scoops generous scoops Vanilla Ice Cream about 1.5 cups, good quality recommended
  • Alternatively Coffee Ice Cream for an extra coffee kick
  • ¼ to ½ cup Milk whole milk for creaminess; start with ¼ cup

Optional Sweetener:

  • 1-2 tsp Simple Syrup Maple Syrup, or to taste (if your coffee is unsweetened and ice cream isn't very sweet)

Optional Flavor Boosters:

  • ¼ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • Caramel Syrup

Optional Garnish:

  • Whipped cream
  • chocolate shavings
  • cocoa powder
  • coffee beans

Instructions

  • Chill Everything (Crucial!): Ensure your brewed coffee (or dissolved instant coffee mixture) is completely cold. Chill your serving glass(es) in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
  • Combine Ingredients: Pour the chilled coffee and milk (starting with ¼ cup) into your blender. Add the ice cream. If using, add any optional sweeteners or flavor boosters now.
  • Blend Until Smooth: Secure the blender lid. Start blending on a low speed for a few seconds to break up the ice cream, then quickly increase to high speed. Blend for 30-60 seconds, or until the milkshake is completely smooth, creamy, and has a consistent color.
  • Check & Adjust Consistency: Pause the blender. If the milkshake is too thick, add another tablespoon or two of milk or chilled coffee and blend briefly. If too thin, add another small scoop of ice cream and blend again for a few seconds.
  • Serve Immediately: Pour into your chilled glass(es). Garnish as desired with whipped cream, a drizzle of syrup, or a dusting of cocoa powder. Enjoy your perfect coffee milkshake right away!

Notes

Quick Tips for Success
  • COLD Coffee is Key: Using hot or even room-temperature coffee will result in a thin, melted milkshake. Plan ahead and chill your coffee thoroughly.
  • Quality Ingredients Shine: The better your coffee and ice cream, the more delicious your milkshake will be. Don't Over-Blend: Blend just until smooth to keep the milkshake thick and frosty. Over-blending generates heat.
  • Adjust Coffee Strength: For a milder coffee flavor, use less coffee or a less concentrated brew. For a stronger kick, use more concentrated coffee or a bit of espresso powder.
