Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup of honey or sugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cups of cold water
  • A handful of butterfly pea flowers or 1 teaspoon of blue spirulina powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Mint leaves or lemon slices for garnish

  • Prepare the Blue Color: If using butterfly pea flowers, steep them in hot water for 5-10 minutes until the water turns a vibrant blue. Strain and let it cool. If using blue spirulina, dissolve the powder in a small amount of water.
  • Squeeze the Lemons: Squeeze fresh lemons to extract 1 cup of lemon juice. Use a strainer to catch any seeds and pulp.
  • Sweeten the Juice: In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with honey or sugar. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  • Add the Blue Color: Pour the cooled butterfly pea flower tea or blue spirulina mixture into the pitcher with the lemon juice. Mix thoroughly.
  • Dilute with Water: Add cold water to the pitcher and stir well. Adjust the amount of water based on your taste preference.
  • Serve Over Ice: Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the blue lemonade over the ice.
  • Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with mint leaves or a slice of lemon if desired. Serve immediately.
